Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and builds.center. By creating an account or using the site, you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the service.

Who you are contracting with

builds.center is operated by Bagas Naufal Insani, an individual based in Tangerang, Indonesia ("we", "us"). Contact: support@builds.center, or the postal address on our contact page.

The service

builds.center is a place to document things you have built — a PC, a car, a room, a desk, a display shelf — by cataloguing the parts and publishing a page about them.

The service is currently in a closed alpha. Access is limited, features will change, and things will occasionally break. We may add, alter or withdraw functionality without notice. We take backups, but during the alpha you should not treat builds.center as the only copy of anything you care about.

Eligibility and your account

• You must be at least 13 years old. Where you live in the EU or UK and your national law requires a higher minimum age for online services — up to 16 — that age applies to you instead.
• Sign-in is handled by our authentication provider, Clerk. Keep your credentials secure; you are responsible for activity under your account.
• Provide accurate information, and keep your email address current so we can reach you.
• Do not create an account to evade a suspension or ban, and do not transfer or sell your account.

Your content

You keep ownership of everything you post. We claim no ownership of your builds, images, text or any other material you upload.

To operate the service we need permission to handle it. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt for display, and publish your content — solely to run and promote the service. "Adapt for display" means the technical work of showing it: resizing images, generating preview cards, and producing the public page. This licence ends when you delete the content, except for copies in backups during the retention period in our Privacy Policy and for content others have legitimately re-shared elsewhere.

You are responsible for what you post. By posting it you confirm that:

• you own it, or otherwise have the right to post it and grant the licence above;
• it does not infringe anyone's copyright, trade mark, privacy or other rights;
• it complies with our Community Guidelines.

Builds marked public can be seen by anyone and indexed by search engines. Consider that before publishing anything you would rather keep to yourself — the inside of your home, a serial number on a component, a receipt with your address on it.

Purchase and affiliate links

Builds can include links to where the parts were bought, and those links may be affiliate links that earn the creator a commission.

We do not touch them. We do not rewrite, replace, wrap, inject or otherwise modify the links a creator adds, and we take no share of any commission they earn. A creator's links are theirs. This is a deliberate commitment, and we will give notice on this page before it ever changes.

If you add affiliate links, you are responsible for disclosing that relationship where the law or the affiliate programme requires it, and for complying with that programme's own rules. We are not a party to any transaction between you and a retailer, and we do not warrant prices, availability or the accuracy of any listing.

Acceptable use

Our Community Guidelines form part of these terms. In short: do not post illegal or infringing material, do not harass people, do not spam, do not impersonate anyone, and do not attack or scrape the service. Breaking those rules can cost you your account.

Paid plans

• Some features are reserved for a paid plan. What is included is described on the upgrade page at the time you buy.
• Payments are processed by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record — Paddle is the seller on your receipt, and its terms also apply to the transaction.
• Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the period you have paid for.
• We may change prices. A change to the price of an existing subscription takes effect at the next renewal, and we will tell you before it does.
• Refunds are covered by our Refund and Cancellation Policy, which does not affect statutory rights you cannot waive.
• If a payment fails or is reversed, we may downgrade the account to the free plan. Your content stays; the paid features stop.

Suspension and termination

You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time from your account settings.

We may suspend or terminate an account, or remove or hide content, where there is a breach of these terms or the Community Guidelines, where we are required to by law, or where an account poses a risk to other users or to the service. Except where it would be unlawful or impractical — for instance where content must come down immediately — we will tell you why, and you can appeal by emailing support@builds.center.

Our own material

The builds.center name, logo, design and software are ours and are not licensed to you by these terms. You may reference the service and link to it freely.

No warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind — express or implied — including as to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, and we do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free. This is a closed alpha; please read that sentence as meant.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, nor for lost profits, lost revenue, lost goodwill, or lost or corrupted data.

Our total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or USD 50.

Nothing here excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for your non-waivable rights as a consumer.

Indemnity

If someone brings a claim against us because of content you posted or because you broke these terms, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and damages that result, provided we tell you about the claim promptly and let you take part in the defence.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes we will give registered users at least 14 days' notice by email or in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms; if you would rather not, you can delete your account.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, and the courts of Indonesia have jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence, or of the right to bring proceedings in your local courts where that law gives it to you.

Please email us first. Most things are a misunderstanding and can be sorted out in a day.

General

• If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest continues in force and that provision is applied as far as it lawfully can be.
• Our not enforcing a term on one occasion does not waive our right to enforce it later.
• You may not assign these terms. We may assign them to a company we form to operate the service, or as part of a transfer of the business, on notice to you.
• These terms, together with the pages they link to, are the whole agreement between us about the service.
